Westhoughton Masonic Hall. Installation Meeting
Wednesday November 15th 2023
 
Set off early as usual and I know it will be hard to believe but went straight up the on ramp on to the M60, and had hardly any back up of traffic all the way to the hall, only down side was that it was pouring down all the way to Westhoughton, still a warming drink of coffee soon cheered us up.  Members were soon arriving from all over the Province and as always were happy to meet and chat, in what seemed no time at all the meeting was opened.
The usual items of housekeeping were dealt with including joining members before W.Bro. Andrew W. Dickson PGSD Prov.DG Sec. was Installed as WM in fine style by VW Bro. Brian Davey PGJO assisted by officers of the Lodge. A Jewel was presented to the WM to signify that Adoniram had become a Grand Patron Gold for the Mark Benevolent Fund.
 
The working Tools of the Degree were presented and explained by the IPM VW Bro. Brian Davey, the address to the W.M. was given by V.W. Bro. John Bicknell PGJO.PAProv.GM. Address to the Wardens was given by W.Bro. Giles Berkeley DPrGM, address to Overseers was given by V.W. Bro. Geoffrey Bury PGJO, the address to all Master Masons was given by our PGM R.W. Bro. Keith Alan Beardmore who then gave his personal congratulations to the newly Installed W.M. and wished him well for his time in office of the prestigious Adoniram Lodge.
Once the meeting was closed everyone made their way downstairs to the dining room and charged their glasses before taking up their allotted seats for the social board, an excellent meal was served by the very friendly hall staff, the usual Toasts and responses were all well received and all too soon it was time to leave to all points of the Province.

As for my trip, well it wasn’t raining when I left but five minutes later it was pouring down and continued all the way to Urmston, here’s looking forward to the next meeting, to see old friends and those I have yet to meet, as I always say your only a stranger once in this “The Magic of the Mark”
